  • 3D Breast Anatomy | Rachellarueallen

3D BREAST ANATOMY THROUGH LIFE STAGES Project Type Dissertation for University of Dundee’s MSc Medical Art Program Media 3D Interactive Digital Models Software ZBrush, Sketchfab Audience 3rd Year Medical Students For my dissertation, I worked with an anatomy professor at my University who requested 3D digital models of breast anatomy to supplement the 2D resources they are currently limited to in their third-year medical student anatomy class. The project included three models that show the changes in breast anatomy throughout possible life stages of a female: non-lactating, lactating, and post-menopausal. The 3D models were built in ZBrush and then imported into Sketchfab so that the students can interact with them from all angles. Screenshots and labelled diagrams were also included within a dedicated website to supplement the models. 2D SUPPLEMENTAL IMAGES NON-LACTATING LACTATING MENOPAUSAL PLANNING AND WORK IN PROGRESS SCREENSHOTS Adjustments made in the shape of the lobes and the shape of the fat layer: BEFORE AFTER

  • Hand Dissection Line Drawing | Rachellarueallen

HAND DISSECTION LINE DRAWING Project Type Assignment for University of Dundee's MSc Medical Art Program Media Digital Drawing Software Adobe Photoshop Audience Anatomy Students This assignment was to create a black and white line drawing in Adobe Photoshop of a hand dissection. I chose to illustrate the dorsal view of the hand, with an emphasis on the dorsal interossei muscles. I started with a sketch built from multiple prosections and models and then began building the drawing layer by layer for each anatomical structure. After the initial drawing in Photoshop, I cross referenced the anatomy with resources in our anatomy museum and then executed these changes in the final drawing. FINAL ILLUSTRATIONS PROJECT PLANNING

  • IUD Insertion Infographic | Rachellarueallen

IUD INSERTION INFOGRAPHIC Project Type Self-Directed Project for University of Dundee’s MSc Medical Art Program Media Vector Illustrations Software Adobe Illustrator Audience Patients This was a completely self-directed project, with the aim of patient education. Over the years I have become aware of how little easily accessible information on the entire IUD insertion process there is and therefore wanted to fill this gap with an interactive illustration of this. Because the tenaculum can be the most painful part of the procedure, I felt that this needed to be included in patient education so that those who choose to get an IUD know exactly what it happening and what to expect. I also chose to include pain management options at the end so that patients know they have options if they are concerned about the pain of the procedure. I started with planning out each slide, then creating all of the illustrations in Adobe Illustrator. Next, I used a program called Genially that allowed me to make the slides interactive and animated. INFOGRAPHIC SLIDES INFOGRAPHIC WITHIN MOCK WEBSITE STORYBOARDING ILLUSTRATION WORK IN PROGRESS
